After the zoning change from residential to “EE” retail was approved last fall at the special hearing of the County Commissioners, Woeste moved ahead to get the plans for the asphalt parking lot approved. The site map and enlarged plan still show an overlay labeled “possible future service building”, but the lighting and landscape plans do not.
The approved plans are just for the parking lot construction on the rezoned property where there used to be four homes. If Woeste intends to build a new structure that would be located within or partially within the new parking lot area, that will require a new application and a hearing to get public input. However, if he just builds the new showroom on the footprint of the former Dollar General Store building, no hearing will be required since that property is currently zoned commercial.
