We would like to thank everyone who knocked on doors, signed, and otherwise supported our canvassing efforts to get the zoning referendum on the ballot in March. Your response was nothing short of amazing, and we succeeded in obtaining double the number of petition signatures required for filing.
Last Friday, 10/11, we filed the zoning petitions with the Hamilton County Commissioners. Today, the original petitions were sent by the County Clerk to the Board of Elections for signature validation. Not sure how long this process takes, but the County Clerk said she would keep us updated. Once the required number of signatures is verified, the petition will officially be on the March ballot.
Copies of the petition will be entered into the record as a By Leave item at the Commissioners’ meeting on Thursday. If you plan on attending, please remember that since it is the third Thursday of the month, the meeting is NOT held downtown. Here is the location:
Village of Lockland Recreation Hall
101 North Cooper Avenue
Lockland, OH 45215
We so appreciate all those who are keeping up those yard signs! It is important in showing we are not done yet. While canvassing, we even had a few new requests.
We will be in touch once the signatures have been validated by the Board of Elections. In the meantime, if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Thank you again for everything!
