Referendum Petition

In September, the County Commissioners approved the dealership’s request for a zone change. Since that time, we have diligently been working on an option that allows us to continue to oppose rezoning the Cambridge properties, a “Petition for a Zoning Referendum.” If filed successfully, the petition will put the issue on next spring’s election ballot so that ALL Columbia Township residents have a vote!

Signatures, signatures, signatures

For the past couple of weeks, neighbors have been canvassing Columbia Township to let everyone know about the petition. We are on our way to obtaining the required number of signatures but would be thrilled to have your help as we near the October 19th filing deadline.

How to help

1-If you live in Columbia Township, sign the petition. Thank you to everyone who has opened your door and signed so far! If you haven’t seen us and would like to sign the petition, please contact us and will have someone stop by with the petition.

2-Canvassing a street to collect signatures. By splitting up streets and working in teams a lot can be accomplished in a short time, sometimes an hour or less. Although you have to be a Columbia Township resident to sign the petition, you do NOT have to be a resident of Columbia Township to collect signatures! We have discovered many people are interested in updates and are happy to sign. If you would like to help, here are canvassing options for the next couple of days:

Yard signs – in light of our continued opposition to rezoning the Cambridge residential property, we would very much appreciate keeping those yard signs up!

Miss attending meetings?

As always, the Columbia Township trustee meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month. Some of us may be canvassing, but I’ll be attending the meeting. Would love to see you there!

Trustee meeting

Tuesday, October 8th, 6pm,
Columbia Township Administration Building

Thank you all for your continued interest. If you have ANY questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
